Here we are benefiting from a positive market environment and the effective measures we introduced in previous months.
Just like many other companies, the new European General Data Protection Regulation has occupied a great deal of our time. This legal challenge for ourselves and our business partners is just one example of the numerous issues we have had to tackle in the context of digital and demographic change, globalisation or shortages of raw materials.
It is necessary for us to continuously adjust our business model to these changes and align our compliance system with the changing overall conditions. This system is based on three pillars: prevention, detection and response. We have established a range of activities and training courses to raise the awareness of all our employees to this issue and establish clear internal rules.
At the same time, we develop our products further and work at keeping them at a top quality level or, where necessary, at bringing and at keeping them up to this level. This requires a great deal of entrepreneurial responsibility on site in the plants. Our plant directors, their managers and employees know best what needs to be done to be successful and to achieve the best results for our customers. To this end, we have set up our own project on how to strengthen our plants and best harness the specific know-how in each location to the benefit of the whole company.
My colleagues on the executive board and I sincerely hope that you will continue to share our journey with us, actively and critically.
Wishing you an interesting read and a great summer!
