Häcker Küchen GmbH & Co KG and Pfleiderer have been working in close partnership for many years now. Many of the ultramodern furniture elements produced by this internationally active kitchen manufacturer are fitted with surfaces from Pfleiderer. In the new Panorama 2 administration wing, Häcker is also using PrimeBoard – an innovative product from Pfleiderer – on its own premises. Text: Jule Milbrett Photos: Häcker Küchen GmbH & Co KG
“Laminates like those from Pfleiderer are an honest, flexible and reliable product which we are happy to work with and which also please our customers”, said Stefan Möller, general manager for purchasing at Häcker Küchen. The two companies had already worked together on some innovative products in the past, such as the HPL Kitchen at the beginning of 2017. “It’s always good to see partnership extend beyond day-to-day business and, with our cumulative expertise, new benefits and solutions developed for our shared customer group”, explained Frank-Michael Koslik, area manager for industry at Pfleiderer.

Now Häcker is also counting on the innovative Pfleiderer PrimeBoard for its own office premises in the new Panorama 2 Häcker administration building. “We have grown a lot in the last few years, which is why we urgently need greater capacity. So we have extended our administration building with a large additional wing”, said Mr Möller. The four-storey Panorama 2 building complex has a total area of around 7,500m2, over 300 new workstations and a generous training and seminar wing with a terraced outdoor area. There is also around 1,000m2 of new showroom space for presenting innovative Häcker kitchen elements.
“We pitched in ourselves with a number of elements when furnishing the interior area”, said Mr Möller. This included the white partition walls that help divide the advanced office layout into flexible, separate individual areas.
“Time was of the essence and the office areas had to be finished as fast as possible. Pfleiderer was able to respond quickly at this stage, and supplied us with a really high-class lacquered surface with the new PrimeBoard, in a colour match that perfectly fitted in with the elegant design concept, with its ultramodern desks and novel lighting system”, explained Mr Möller. 1,300m² of solid system partition walls in Crystal White (U11026) and the XTreme Matt (XT) surface finish, which divided the premises into various large office areas, were produced with Pfleiderer PrimeBoard. A special additional benefit was that the surfaces were assembled with what we call a ‘shadow gap’, which meant that all kinds of information, charts, pictures or decorations could quickly and easily be fixed on the walls using clamp connectors.
Since the beginning of the year, Pfleiderer PrimeBoard is produced by a coating plant that is unique throughout Europe – at the Pfleiderer site in Leutkirch. “The new lacquered surface has great colour stability and other excellent product qualities

thanks to the innovative, multi-layer coating process”, Mr Koslik explained. “PrimeBoard is robust, long-lasting and great for everyday use.” With its XTreme Matt and XTreme Gloss versions, this timeless lacquered surface is always in fashion. “It’s great to see the effect that premium plain coloured decors like XTreme Matt have in this project”, said Mr Koslik. “And the practical anti-fingerprint effect provides additional protection against undesirable dirt that makes it easy to clean.” Its opposite number in XTreme Gloss, on the other hand, gives the decors the effect of enormous depth – and is just as easy to process as the matt finish. With an optimal colour match, Pfleiderer PrimeBoard can also be used and combined in many different versatile and flexible ways.
The ground-breaking ceremony was in summer 2016, and the first Häcker employees were able to move into their new office premises in May this year. Construction is due for completion in mid-September, in time for the company‘s own in-house exhibition.
